At Adventure Sunderland, we provide a fun and safe learning environment to get young people active and learning outside the classroom. Now more than ever it is important to get your students outside.  We understand the importance of gaining valuable life skills through outdoor adventure.

We will create a bespoke program of activities for your schools requirements. We can either come to your school or college, or you can come to us on Roker sea front.

Our school packages are unique to your school, we create a bespoke package that is tailored to your needs and requirements.

Whether you are looking for a day of fun filled adventure. to work on confidence and team work or to test the abilities of your students.With our full day or half day adventure packages we can provide your students with an experience they will never forget.We can offer a wide variety of activities on any given day to suit the needs of your school, or we could always  bring the adventure to you!

We are pleased to introduce our outdoor classroom days, we will come to your school and create a package of activities which will challenge the mind, but give your students that outdoor learning experience they desperately need.

We provide a fun and safe learning environment to get young people actively learning outside the classroom.

We can create a bespoke program of activities for your schools requirements.
No need to travel our highly trained staff will

come to you learning outside has proven to help with mental health and socialization.

Term Visits

If you are looking for a progressive program of activity sessions then you are in the right place.  We can create bespoke term packages for each year group, working on your own specific curriculum needs. At adventure Sunderland are are in a unique position where we can provide a range of different activities to suit all age groups.  All of our sessions can be planned to accommodate key stage learning outcomes as well as GCSE and A-level. Whether you are looking for an alternative activity for PE lessons, curriculum enrichment or you are looking to give a class of students a new adventurous challenge for the year then we can help.

Residential prep

It can be quite daunting for some young people to be in a new environment faced with challenges they wouldn't normally undertake. 

If you have students who would benefit from trying some of the activity's first hand prior to your school residential. 

This will not only give them the reassurance they need to take on the challenges faced on residential. but is a great way to bond groups together.

Beach Schools

Beach Schools are a way of giving children in their early years the opportunity to learn and develop in a natural environment, sparking their intrinsic motivations to explore, create and be curious about the world around them. Here at Adventure Sunderland we aim to increase students' knowledge about the local coastal environment. Opening their eyes to the amazing ecosystem and helping inspiring them to care for our local coast lines.

There's no such thing as a typical day here at Adventure Sunderland as we pride ourselves on a bespoke experience 

 here's what your day could look like!

9am Arrive at the center. You will be greeted by your instructors for the day. We go through options for activities. 

9:15am - 9:45am  Prepare for your first activity, you will be taken into our drying room where your instructors will brief you on our wet suits and safety kit. Time to get changed!

 

9:45am - 12:30pm  Your first activity could be an activity on the water. Our instructors will focus on your requirements. Whether that be working on resilience, teamwork, leadership or Fun. we will fulfill these objectives throughout the session, reviewing as we go.

​

12:30pm - 1:15pm Lunch time - either in one of our classrooms or on the lawn if its nice.

​

1:15pm - 3:00pm Your second activity. Perhaps a 'dry' activity this time such as climbing or fencing? Our instructors will build on the learning outcomes achieved on the morning session and further develop any outcomes you require for the day.

3:30pm Departure

Coasteering

Water Confidence

Building water confidence is an important life skill. Which we will develop and build on throughout our activity sessions. The participants will leave Adventure Sunderland with a greater respect and understanding of water. In a controlled and safe environment we are passionate about instilling water safety to every participant coming through our doors.

Resiliance

Building resilience from a young age helps to equip young people for setbacks in their every day life. The ability to learn from failures and view them as positive opportunities for learning are the key to our approach. Through progressive sessions participants build resilience and are better prepared and more confident.

Social Awareness

Through different activities learners are developing their self- awareness and social skills. They become increasingly aware of the impact that they have on other people and learn how to adapt there approach in order to work cooperatively in a wider range of group settings.

Teamwork and Leadership

Being able to work with other people is a key ability not only in school, work and life but having the ability to adapt can benefit all relationships, friendships, and well-being.
At adventure Sunderland  young people the space to involve themselves in collaborating towards a common goal, whether that be building a raft, solving a complex task, or producing a piece of work exploring a particular topic.

Health and well being

Participating in outdoor activities will have a great impact in a persons health and well being. Gainnig valubule life skills. which can not only help physicaly by being active.

Or helping mental health. it has been proven that physical activity can greatly boost your mood.

Personal qualities

Participants will gain a greater understanding of self-awareness and increase self confidence.
